This week, we were transported through time and imagination as part of the Griffin Literacy Festival, exploring the theme “Identity: Our Story, Our Legacy.”
The journey began in a Victorian classroom, where we stepped into a Time Machine and experienced what school life was like in the past. From writing on slates to learning the rules of a bygone era, they got a real sense of the history and stories that have shaped education—and themselves.
Next, they traveled into the future, entering a classroom of innovation and possibilities. Here, we explored how learning might evolve, using creativity and imagination to think about the legacy they want to leave behind.
Inspired by these experiences, the children have been writing their own stories, reflecting on their identity and the legacy they want to leave. We can’t wait to see their writing showcased in the exhibition on Friday!
