History has a way of opening doors to other worlds — and this year’s winning story did just that!
We’re delighted to announce the winner of the Historical Association’s 2026 Best Story Competition, celebrating an imaginative original historical story written by a talented young writer.
With vivid storytelling, a wonderful sense of time and place, and plenty of imagination, the winning entry whisked us away from the present and into the past.
