What an absolute triumph! On Sunday 14 June, our amazing Riverley community and four other local schools, including Willow Brook, came together at Leyton Orient Football Club and Coronation Gardens for the Run Leyton Run fun run and the energy, smiles and community spirit were through the roof. We had over 100 incredible participants from Nursery all the way up to Year 6, along with plenty of enthusiastic family members and staff, smashing their 1km and 2km challenges. Whether running, jogging or walking, everyone gave it their absolute all and crossed the finish line with massive smiles.
The atmosphere was electric from start to finish, complete with energetic warm-ups, music, snacks and well-deserved medals for all our finishers. We were also thrilled to be joined by two special guests from the Leyton Orient Women’s team, who cheered on our runners, inspired the children and celebrated their amazing achievements.
Thanks to everyone who signed up and participated, Riverley Primary School will receive a fantastic £5,000 grant from the event sponsors to support an exciting improvement project for our pupils! On top of that, your incredible fundraising efforts during Challenge 26 and through family sponsorships have boosted our totals even further. Thank you so much for your immense generosity and support. We had the absolute best time and are already looking to do the exact same again next year!
