Year 2 took a giant leap back in time, swapping whiteboards for chalkboards and modern classrooms for the strict, structured world of a Victorian schoolroom at the Ragged School Museum.
Under the watchful eye of a rather stern (but historically accurate!) Victorian teacher, our young historians experienced the discipline, decorum, and daily lessons of 19th-century school life. Hands were inspected for cleanliness and even the tiniest slip in handwriting was met with an imposing glance!
Through this experience, they widened their horizons, discovering just how different education was in the past.
This journey through time not only deepened their understanding of history but also sparked a newfound appreciation for their modern classrooms. Safe to say, they were all rather relieved to return to the comforts of today’s school life.
