Adisa the Poet Visits Riverley

By 19 October 2023No Comments

Today, as we conclude an inspiring Black History Month at Riverley, our children had the privilege of a visit from the immensely talented poet, Adisa. He spearheaded a captivating assembly that engaged the entire school in interactive and enjoyable activities.

Following the assembly, Adisa extended his creative energy to our Year 4 and Year 6 students, guiding them to craft their own poems that celebrated their uniqueness and foundational values. It was truly inspiring.

During the session, the children learned about the renowned black architect, David Adjaye, the brilliant mind behind the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C. The striking architecture of this museum served as a source of inspiration for our young learners, helping them discover what makes them extraordinary and contributing to their creative poetry.
