Congratulations to Muhammad in Year 5 for representing Riverley in the first Griffin Schools Trust Spelling Bee Competition!
This term, all of the children in Years 5, 6 and 7 competed in the first trust-wide Spelling competition. The children were eager to practise and learn ambitious vocabulary in the hopes of becoming ‘Spellebrities’. The first few rounds were completed in schools between the year groups. After rounds of accurate spelling, Muhammad was victorious and became Riverley’s representative. Our upper Key Stage 2 children were all superstars and ‘Spellebrities’ to us! Proudly, they all stood united, congratulating Muhammad on becoming the top speller out of a whopping 115 children in Years 5 and 6!
The final round took place on Wednesday 14 December when all schools came together, online, to compete in the well-anticipated final. Riverley stood behind Muhammad, cheering and encouraging him as he spelled very ambitious words aloud, to all schools. We are extremely proud, and we are sure Muhammad is too, of this very outstanding achievement of getting to the finals.
