Our ECO Warrior Pupil Leadership team collaborated with children from local schools, St. Saviours and Willow Brook, to discuss important issues about our environment, climate change and how these schools have a say in the Waltham Forest Climate Action Plan.
The children explored big issues such as pollution, waste, extreme weather and carbon dioxide emissions which all contribute to the biggest issue: climate change. After much critical thinking and thorough discussion, our leaders were empowered and confident when articulating their great ideas and suggestions to our Waltham Forest representatives who were truly impressed by the children.
By the end of the session, the children reflected on the plans that buzzed and circulated around the room, pledging to champion these ideas individually by making small changes and sharing these ideas with the rest of the school.
Today was a fantastic experience for the children to be informed, curious and to feel that their voices are heard!
